Curse of the Bell Tower
The first of two known myths about the Purdue Bell Tower is that if an undergraduate student walks underneath the bell tower, that student will not graduate in four years.
A Purdue University student named Jonathan Oskvarek wrote an article in the Purdue Exponent that shows his opinions for why the students who walk under the bell tower don't graduate in four years. He explains that laziness is the best reason for this phenomena and that the curse of the bell tower might be that it makes students lazy so they just shrug off their studies.
Do students actually believe in the curse? Our group did some field research in a to find out and found that the majority of undergraduate students who walk by the bell tower walk around it and not under it. This proves that most of the undergraduates at Purdue believe in the myth.
